During the months of April and May 2026 I attended as a panelist at several events speaking to hundreds of managers from several of the largest condominium property management firms in the Greater Toronto Region. The topic: What are the risks involved and how to prepare for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Soccer 2026 events.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be coming to the Toronto Stadium at the Canadian National Exhibition from June 12 to July 2, 2026. With 300,000 visitors expected for these games, this will bring challenges to Toronto, such as strain on infrastructure, delayed EMS response times, traffic congestion, transit delays, increase hospital wait times, and of course the inevitable increase in illegal short term rentals in condominiums throughout the downtown core. In fact, AIR B&B has offered a $1,000 to new clients to assist with the increase in demand during the FIFA World Cup.
Is your condominium community prepared? For years Samsonshield /Riskboss has been assisting residential condominiums with sound advice on how to secure residential condominiums against risk including illegal short term rentals.
